Onion Creek Golf Club in Southeast Austin is one of Rodney’s favorite golf courses in Austin. It was founded in 1974 by 3 time Master’s Champion Jimmy Demaret and golf legend Jimmie Connolly. It features 27 holes of championship golf. Onion Creek Golf Club has hosted the Legends of Golf Tournament as well as the LPGA Harvey Penick Invitational, making it one of the most respected courses in Austin.
The neighborhood is named for the golf course – Onion Creek. It offers a mix of condos and townhouses as well as several different sections of homes at different price ranges, from 1970s style ramblers to modern construction on estate sized lots. Onion Creek has its own 24 hour security patrol, just to give the owners an additional sense of protection.
