Shady Hollow Community in Southwest Austin, TX


SHADY HOLLOW – SOUTHWEST AUSTIN REAL ESTATE

Shady Hollow is a popular community in Southwest Austin.  Mainly constructed in the late 1980s, this neighborhood has many amenities.  Here is the Shady Hollow Homeowners’ Association website which has photos of the pool at Capistrano Park, the David Ellis Community Center, the Shady Hollow West Nature Preserve and Park, Gatling Gun Park, Doe Run Park, and the tennis courts and picnic areas - all located inside the Shady Hollow neighborhood.

One reason Shady Hollow is so desirable is that the neighborhood feeds to sought after schools - Baranoff Elementary School, Bailey Middle School, and Bowie High School.   If you want to research the detailed school data, here is the Texas Education Agency website but I can summarize it for you that Baranoff is Exemplary (the highest possible rating) and Bailey is Recognized (the second highest rating).  Bowie is also Recognized (2nd from the top).  

The real estate market in Shady Hollow is strong.  So far in 2012, average market time is 39 days on market.  The average sales price is $117.83 per square foot.  Currently there are only 4 homes available, while 70 have already gone under contract or sold so far this year.
